Spanish Teacher (Beginning) – Part Time 2025
Kentucky Avenue School, a K-8 independent school in the Shadyside neighborhood of Pittsburgh is seeking a part-time Beginning Spanish teacher who may have interest in teaching other classes. Kentucky Avenue seeks to hire a creative and innovative educator with a commitment to experiential learning. Requirements
- Understanding of the Spanish Language and cultures where Spanish is spoken.
- Bachelor’s degree is required, with appropriate clearances.
- Ideal candidates will have some elementary school teaching experience, an understanding of differentiated instruction, a flexible and team-oriented approach, excellent written and oral communication skills, exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, superior interpersonal skills, and a sense of humor.
Preferred Qualities
- A depth of knowledge and understanding of young children
- A passion for working with young children
- Sensitivity to diverse communities of learners and an appreciation of developmental differences in an elementary school setting
- A knowledge of 21st Century Skills and how they relate to classroom teaching
Salary & Start Date
- This is a part-time job, with a (somewhat) flexible work schedule.
- Salary is $15-$25 per hour based on experience and commitment.
- KAS may start this position as early as November 2024, with a certain start date of January 2025.
